Team Liquid won the first two maps en route to a 3-1 win over TSM and a berth in the winners’ bracket final the League Championship Series 2021 Championship on Sunday.
The winner of each map played on blue, beginning when Liquid won the first map in 43 minutes. They followed up with a 26-minute victory, before TSM took the third map in 33 minutes.
Team Liquid, who will take on 100 Thieves in the winners’ bracket final on Aug. 21, clinched the match on the fourth map with a win in 31 minutes.
The loss drops TSM into a losers’ bracket match against Immortals on Friday.
The top eight clubs from the Summer Split advanced to the championship, and all matches are best of five. The two matches contested last Saturday and Sunday featured the teams that finished third through sixth, vying for the right to oppose the top two teams in the second round.
The championship brackets run through Aug. 29, with the final rounds held at Los Angeles’ LCS Arena.
The top teams in the LCS 2021 Championship will qualify for the main draw of the League of Legends World Championship, scheduled to be held later this year in China. The third-place LCS finisher will earn a spot in the World Championship’s play-in event.
Edward “Tactical” Ra of the U.S. led Team Liquid with a kills-deaths-assists ratio of 19-4-18, and teammate Nicolaj “Jensen” Jensen of Denmark was at 17-11-21. Tristan “Power of Evil” Schrage of Germany led TSM at 14-10-11.
