Fnatic top laner Adam tests positive for COVID-19

Fnatic top laner Adam “Adam” Maanane is recovering from COVID-19 but will compete remotely in this weekend’s 2021 Summer Split playoffs in the League of Legends European Championship.

The 19-year-old Frenchman tested positive at the end of the Summer Split regular season. The other players and staff at the team’s Berlin office were tested and there were no additional positive cases, according to a team post Friday on Twitter.

Fnatic said it collaborated with Riot Games and worked out an arrangement in which Adam will compete remotely while the rest of the team plays in-office.

Fnatic face Team Vitality in the opening round of the losers’ bracket on Sunday.

The LEC Summer Split playoffs began Friday with two semifinal matches: Rogue vs. Misfits Gaming and MAD Lions vs. G2 Esports.
