Yasin “xfl0ud” Koc is no longer on the active roster of GORILLAZ, leaving the team short of players less than a week in advance of the start of the Elisa Invitational Fall Regionals.
xfl0ud joined the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive squad in May. GORILLAZ, which isn’t connected with an esports organization, was started by Robin “flusha” Ronnquist after he departed Fnatic.
“Selfbenched from GORILLAZ. I’ll share the details very soon,” xfl0ud, an 18-year-old from Turkey, tweeted Tuesday.
At the Elisa regionals, flusha will be joined by Finns Jere “sergej” Salo and Miikka “suNny” Kemppi. GORILLAZ also needs to replace Niels Christian “NaToSaphiX” Sillassen, who departed the team last month.
The $100,000 tournament begins Monday and runs through Sept. 9. It features 16 teams, mostly from the Nordic region.
