Ivan F_1N Kochugov was reinstated as the head coach of Gambit Esports’ Counter-Strike: Global Offensive team, Dexerto reported on Friday.
The move comes on the heels of F_1N serving a 8.75-month suspension levied by the Esports Integrity Commission in September 2020. An investigation by the ESIC into the use of a spectator bug revealed widespread abuse and resulted in the suspension of 37 CS:GO coaches.
F_1N, a 37-year-old Russian, shuffled to the analyst role while Konstantin “groove” Pikiner guided Gambit Esports in his absence.
F_1N will serve as Gambit Esports’ coach when the Russian organization competes at ESL Pro League Season 14, which is slated to begin on Monday. Gambit is joined in Group D by Ninjas in Pyjamas, FURIA, Team Liquid, Team oNe and Entropiq.
F_1N, however, has been permanently banned by Valve as a result of the amount of times he used the bug.
