MAD Lions are returning to a six-man roster after acquiring Johannes “b0RUP” Borup from Heroic on Friday.
The European organization had been down one member due to the departure of Teodor “SPELLAN” Nikolov earlier this month.
As for b0RUP, he had been removed from Heroic’s active lineup in February. The 21-year-old Dane, however, stayed sharp by serving as one of the members of HYENAS.
“From the beginning of this project, in the back of our heads we had a plan to bring an experienced player to the team who could complete it,” coach Jakub “kuben” Gurzynski said. “With b0RUP, we believed to have found the perfect fit for that. “At the start of this season, the role of IGL was taken over by TMB, hence our idea to bring a second high-profile Danish player to the squad to get a similar philosophy of the way we can play the game. We believe that by combining the experience that b0RUP will bring to the team and the youth’s hunger for success, we will improve our results from the previous few months.”
Heroic took to Twitter to thank b0RUP for his time with the organization.
“We are thankful for the time together with @b0RUPCSGO and we wish him good luck in his new home,” Heroic wrote.
MAD Lions’ six-man roster is now comprised of: Spain’s Pere “sausol” Solsona Saumell, Lithuania’s Justinas “jL” Lekavicius, Poland’s Filip “tudsoN” Tudev, Ukraine’s Volodymyr “Woro2k” Veletniuk and Denmark’s Thomas “TMB” Bundsbaek and b0RUP. Poland’s kuben is the coach.
